A woman centric approach to health care.

“When you decide to visit New Birth Company, you will experience something unique. We will strive to become your partner in health. We believe in a holistic approach that is achieved by understanding that women’s bodies, our knowledge and emotions work together to result in our health status.

We believe birth, puberty and menopause are normal life events for female human beings. These are times when women need special education and community support. A healthy pregnant woman is not diseased; she’s having a baby!

Our grandmothers witnessed the births of their mothers, aunts, sisters and friends years before they gave birth themselves. We realize in the 21st century, we may live far away from our families. The media does us no favors, showing birth as a trauma or comical event. Natural childbirth is seldom depicted correctly. New Birth Company strives to lift up contemporary natural childbirth as the preferred method of birth and reverse this course. We will guide the mother to fully participate in her incredible birth day…”  Cathy Gordon, CNM

About Midwifery

Midwifery is an ancient profession, with a proud tradition of providing care for women during pregnancy and childbirth.  The midwifery model of care is one that views labor and birth as a normal physiological process.  Midwives spend more time on wellness, prevention, and helping childbearing women maintain an optimal state of health.  Midwives usually have a lower rate of interventions, care for each woman according to her individual needs, and include women in the decisions that affect their care.
